Second Pro-Sports Team in the Borough

When the Brooklyn Nets tossed the ball up on Nov. 3, 2012 for their first regular season game, it heralded the return of major professional sports to the borough since the departure of the Brooklyn Dodgers. With two consecutive NBA playoff appearances under their belt, the Brooklyn Nets have quickly become the borough's team, with black and white the new badge of honor. Beginning with the 2015-16 season, the New York Islanders will bring over 40 years of tradition with them to Barclays Center. Brooklyn is waiting with open arms.
